The people of Rose-Rich
Seven veterinarians see patients on Thompson Road, backed by an office and practice management team and a support staff that between them cover the front desk, the treatment room, the boarding wing, and the grooming salon. Several of them grew up around Fort Bend County agriculture before they ever put on a white coat, and one of them, Dr. Katie Williams, grew up inside this very practice. The clinic they carry forward goes back to 1964, and the fuller story of how it started is told on our history page.
The veterinarians
Seven doctors, one small animal practice
All seven veterinarians at Rose-Rich are members of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and all are USDA APHIS certified to issue international health certificates.
Dr. Sharon L. Moore, DVM
Owner and President
Dr. Moore earned her DVM from the University of Tennessee in 1983, where she received the Armistead Award for Outstanding Veterinary Student and a Chancellor's Citation for Extraordinary Academic Achievement. She belongs to the Society of Phi Zeta, the honor society of veterinary medicine, and Gamma Sigma Delta, the honor society of agriculture. She joined Rose-Rich as a partner in 1998, became sole proprietor in 2007, and led the design and build of the current Thompson Road facility. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the AVMA.
At home she rides horses, keeps cattle, and shares the house with a Sheltie named Aggie, alongside a scattering of cats. She also scuba dives, travels, and is active in her church. She is married to Michael Moore, and their daughter Katie also practices at the clinic, as Dr. Katie Williams.
Dr. Katie L. Williams
Veterinarian
Dr. Williams grew up in Richmond, literally inside this practice, as Dr. Moore's daughter. She rode rodeo and showed horses and pigs to state titles, served as President of the Foster High School FFA chapter, and was crowned Fort Bend County Fair Queen in 2008. At Texas A&M she majored in Animal Science, judged on the 2010 National Champion Wool Judging Team (and was individual national champion that year), and helped the Animal Science Academic Quadrathlon team take a national title in 2012. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013 and earned her DVM Cum Laude from Texas A&M in 2017.
Her special interests are veterinary dentistry and internal medicine. She and her husband Jacob share their home with Jazz, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Pippin, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi with his own AKC show career.
Dr. Stephanie Ginestra, DVM
Veterinarian
Raised in Houston, Dr. Ginestra studied biomedical science and zoology as an undergraduate at Texas A&M before earning her DVM at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Her special interests are diagnostic imaging, pet dental health, soft tissue surgery, and teaching young people about veterinary medicine. She belongs to the Houston County Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the AVMA.
Away from the clinic she paints as an amateur, travels to France, and cooks international food. Her own dogs are Tucker, Kaia, and Gibbs.
Dr. Morgan Drozd
Veterinarian
Dr. Drozd grew up in the Rosenberg area and started her career at Rose-Rich as a veterinary technician, years before she was a doctor here. She earned her DVM at Texas A&M in 2014, practiced in Katy for four years, and returned to Rose-Rich in June 2018. Her special interests are dentistry and feline medicine, and she belongs to the AVMA, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
She lives with her husband Mike, their daughter Rory, three cats named Rupert, Guinness, and Ember, and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Spencer.
Dr. Emily Tran
Veterinarian
Raised in Houston and a first-generation Aggie, Dr. Tran earned her biology degree Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M in 2017 and her DVM Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M in 2021, joining Rose-Rich that same June. Her special interests are preventative care, feline medicine, and critical care.
At home she keeps a tortoiseshell cat named Snickers and a puppy named Ollie.
Dr. Richard Croft
Veterinarian
A native Houstonian, Dr. Croft graduated from the Texas A&M veterinary school in 1985 and spent 35 years as a partner in a multi-doctor practice in Katy before joining Rose-Rich. He is one of the few veterinarians in the area who still sees pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and rabbits, alongside the usual dogs and cats.
He and his wife Donna have been married 40 years and have two sons and a grandson. At home he keeps four birds and a rescue Sheltie named Spirit.
Dr. Gaby Torres
Veterinarian
Raised in the Houston area, Dr. Torres earned her veterinary assistant certification while still a student at George Ranch High School, through the school's partnership with Rose-Rich. She studied biomedical science at Texas A&M, graduating in 2019, then spent a year working as a veterinary technician here before returning to Texas A&M's veterinary school for her DVM in 2024. She joined the Rose-Rich team that May, and her special interests are surgery and critical care.
At home she has a dog named Soleil, a black cat named Lunetta, and a Bengal cat named Chiara.

The people who run the building
Leslie Walenta
Office Manager
Leslie started at Rose-Rich in September 1981, at eighteen years old, as a co-op student. She later moved to the front desk and became office manager, a role she has now held across more than four decades with the practice. She graduated Lamar High School in 1982, the same year she married Chris Walenta. She is active in the Lone Star Borzoi Club and the Houston Area Hound Association, is a Life Member of the Fort Bend County Fair, and still shows Borzois in lure coursing and in the show ring.
Trestina Gilbert
Practice Manager
Trestina joined Rose-Rich in 2009, bringing 15 years in veterinary work, 13 of them in veterinary management. She grew up around dairy, beef, and beefalo farms in California. She is married to Mark, and they have three children, Mekechnie, Zachary, and Madison.
Michael Moore
Business Manager
Michael has been married to Dr. Sharon Moore since 1991, and joined Rose-Rich in 2007 as project manager for the new Thompson Road building. A native of Seguin, Texas, he holds history degrees from both the University of Texas and the University of Houston, and spent two decades leading museums and historic sites across Austin and Fort Bend counties before taking on the business side of the clinic.
Support staff and groomers
Everyone else who touches your pet's visit
Our receptionists are trained monthly on heartworm and flea preventatives and on standards of veterinary care, so the first voice a client hears at the desk already knows the answer. Veterinary technicians and assistants support the doctors through every part of a visit, from restraint and monitoring to lab work. The animal care team handles the daily needs of every boarding and hospitalized pet: cleaning, walking, bathing, and feeding.
Lauren Medina
Groomer
Lauren was raised on her parents' farm in the Richmond and Rosenberg area, attended Foster High School, where her own father was her agriculture teacher, and showed livestock as a teenager. She worked at Tractor Supply before Dr. Sharon Moore recruited her into grooming, and she trained through the Golden Paws program.
Rose-Rich hires veterinarians, registered technicians, receptionists, and kennel staff, and also runs externship programs for veterinary students and RVT candidates. See our current openings.
