Working at Rose-Rich
We hire veterinarians, registered technicians, receptionists, and kennel staff, and we run externship programs for veterinary students and RVT candidates. More than one person on our own team started here as a student.
Where it can lead
Two technicians who came back as veterinarians
Dr. Morgan Drozd began her career here as a technician before earning her DVM from Texas A&M in 2014. She worked in Katy for four years, then returned to Rose-Rich in June 2018, this time as a veterinarian with a special interest in dentistry and feline medicine.
Dr. Gaby Torres followed a similar path. While at George Ranch High School, she earned her veterinary assistant certification through the school’s partnership with this clinic. She worked here as a vet technician for a year, went back to Texas A&M Veterinary School, and rejoined the Rose-Rich team as a DVM in May 2024 with a special interest in surgery and critical care.
September 1981 to today
Leslie Walenta joined Rose-Rich in September 1981 as an 18 year old co-op student. She later moved to the front desk and, over the decades since, became the clinic’s office manager, a role she still holds today. It is the kind of tenure that tells you more about a workplace than any job posting can.
The building
Where you’d actually be working
The Thompson Road clinic has seven exam rooms opening off the courtyard, a treatment room with three treatment tables, a separate dental room, an ICU area, an isolation ward for contagious animals, and a well-equipped surgery suite. There is also a boarding wing with eight themed suites and an on-site grooming salon, so the work under one roof spans a lot more than a typical exam room.
