What we do
Every service, under one Thompson Road roof
Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic has cared for Rosenberg and Richmond's pets since 1964, and since May 2010 that care has happened inside the 10,000-square-foot building on Thompson Road in Richmond: seven exam rooms open off a courtyard under a hand-painted sky mural, a full surgery suite, an in-house lab, a boarding wing, and a grooming salon, all under one roof.
The eight services below are grouped the way the building itself is organized: medicine on one side, surgery and diagnostics through the courtyard, boarding and grooming toward the back. Each one links through to the details, the real schedules, and the prices we work from every day. If you would rather talk it through first, get in touch or call (281) 342-3727.
Medicine
Wellness exams and vaccinations
A yearly visit here means a complete physical exam, that year's canine or feline vaccinations, a fecal test for internal parasites, and a heartworm test, gathered into the Healthy Pet Wellness Program.
Turn ten and the Senior Advanced Wellness Program adds a blood panel and a urinalysis every other year, and puppies and kittens follow their own P1 to P4 and K1 to K3 schedules.
Sick exams and hospitalization
Sick or injured pets are seen by appointment or by drop-off, and an urgent case worked in ahead of the day's schedule carries a $65.00 charge.
A pet admitted for hospitalization recovers on an oxygen therapy unit and IV pumps, and after hours, Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Center takes over.
Health certificates and travel
Flying domestically needs a health certificate dated within ten days of departure. Flying internationally needs six months of notice, and every veterinarian here is USDA APHIS-certified to issue it.
Microchipping and a plain safety collar, never a choke or training collar, round out what we recommend before a pet travels.
The building
A courtyard, not a corridor
The 2010 building was designed inside and out by Dr. Sharon Moore and her husband, historian Michael Moore, with veterinary architect Ralph A. Thibodeau. Limestone and a green metal roof outside; a Talavera-tiled fountain and a hand-painted sky mural by Richmond artist Robin Schwenke inside, over the courtyard the exam rooms open onto.

Surgery and diagnostics
Dental and surgery
Dentistry covers cleaning, polishing, extractions and minor oral surgery. Surgery ranges from a spay or neuter to cruciate ligament repair.
Every procedure gets pre-anesthetic bloodwork, an IV catheter, and monitoring on ECG, blood pressure and oxygen, with extras like ear cleaning or a microchip bundled into the same anesthesia so a pet is only put under once.
Diagnostics and radiology
The in-house lab runs a heartworm test, a fecal check, a wellness blood panel and a urinalysis while you wait, and the digital X-ray system sends images straight to the monitor in the room you're already sitting in.
Ultrasound looks at the heart, kidneys, liver and gallbladder, or checks a pregnancy or a suspicious cyst.
Boarding and grooming
Boarding
Dogs board in a kennel cage or a run, and cats in a cottage suite or a two-story luxury condo, with a free brief exam at admission and current vaccinations required at the door.
Drop-off runs 6:30 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 to 11:30 am on Saturdays, with a go-home bath available for pick-up day.
Luxury suites
Eight boarding suites are individually hand-painted by Richmond artist Robin Schwenke, from Under the Sea's clamshell bed to the chandelier and castle view of the Royal Suite.
Every suite has a webcam so owners can check in remotely, a window onto the on-site dog park, and cable TV.
Grooming
Complete dog and cat grooming runs Monday through Friday with professionally trained groomers. Because condition and cut style vary so much, a quote is given in person rather than over the phone.
The same vaccination proof required for boarding and surgery applies here, and we recommend starting maintenance-heavy breeds while they're still puppies.
