Eight rooms, one artist
Richmond artist Robin Schwenke painted all eight luxury suites by hand, room by room, the same way she painted the sky mural on the two-story courtyard ceiling out front. No two suites share a theme: a mermaid and a treasure chest in one, a hunting-scene mural and a rustic bed in another, the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa in a third.
It is the kind of detail a boarding kennel does not usually bother with, because most boarders never see the room their pet actually sleeps in. At Rose-Rich, the room is part of the point.

What comes with every suite
Every suite has a webcam, so an owner traveling for work or on vacation can check in on their pet from a phone. Each one also has a window onto the on-site dog park and cable television, and the suites open onto an adjoining indoor playroom.
Sizing and pricing, at a glance
Four suites (Under the Sea, A Day at the Beach, Jungle Room and Sports Mania) take pets up to 100 lbs at $49.00 a night. Good Day Hunting takes dogs up to 100 lbs, also at $49.00. The Royal Suite, World Traveler and Barn Friends are the smaller rooms, priced at $43.00 for dogs 30 lbs or less (Barn Friends takes any pet under 30 lbs). Sea turtles, fish and a mermaid cover the walls, with a 3D treasure chest and a custom clamshell-shaped bed.
A Day at the Beach

A beachside room built around an Adirondack-style bed.
Jungle Room

A rainforest and African mural wraps the room.
Sports Mania
Pets 100 lbs and under
Checkerboard walls hung with Texas sports memorabilia.
The Royal Suite

A chandelier, fancy dinnerware and a castle view.
Good Day Hunting
Dogs 100 lbs and under
A hunting-scene mural over a rustic, oversized bed.
World Traveler
Dogs 30 lbs or less
The Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Parthenon, all on one mural.
Barn Friends
Pets under 30 lbs
A country and barn theme, finished with a John Deere bed.
